WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?  Reconciliation…I am totally accepted by God

Reconciliation 1) means to be fitly joined together 2) the restoration of a broken relationship.

Our reconciliation to God is secured solely by the atoning work of Christ on the cross (Hebrews 2:17).

What does reconciliation accomplish?

1) It removes the hostility between God and us (Romans 5:10, Colossians 1:19-21).  Unfortunately, Scripture says that those who are not yet reconciled to God are actually the alienated enemies of God.

2) It makes peace between God and us (Ephesians 2:14-16).

3) It destroys the barrier that existed between God and us (Ephesians 2:14-16).  The Old Testament Law is that barrier that stands between God and us.  God demands obedience and we cannot provide it.  Jesus Christ at the cross dismantled, demolished, and destroyed the Law’s requirement and our slavery to it (Ephesians 2:15).

4) It accepts us in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6).

5) It changes the way God sees us (Colossians 1:22).  God now sees us as HOLY, FAULTLESS, and BLAMELESS.

God makes the offer of reconciliation to every person.  It is received by placing your faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Once reconciliation has occured – we are totally accepted by God.  And his opinion of us is the ONLY opinion that matters!
